Our summer program is a full day, approximately a seven-eight week program that runs from the last week of June through the second week in August. The program is geared mainly towards preschoolers (ages 2-5+). We encourage our grade level students (1st grade and up) to participate in outside activities in order to feel refreshed to return to MAV in the fall.
The summer program does not include Montessori activities; it is instead centered on weekly themes. Summer program is typically run by the teacher assistants together with college students. Children make crafts, sing songs, receive information/lessons and play games pertaining to the respective themes. Some themes in the past have been: Amazon Adventure, Dinosaurs Galore, Globe Trotters, Bugs and Insect Life, Kitchen Science, Solar System, etc.
Parents can opt to join only the weeks that are of interest to their child or the entire program. Payments are due weekly, on each Monday of attendance. One week’s non-refundable advance is due at the time of registration; this will apply towards your final week’s payment, delinquent payments or payment for non-attendance (after signing up). Late charges will apply same as during the school year. A one-time, $ 20 activity fee will be charged at time of registration.
There are no sibling discounts for our summer program. Summer Registration begins in April/May. Hours of operation are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; no extended care is available during the summer.
